Maya is associated with Lord but in perfect control of Shiva for the cause  of creation, sustenance and dissolution, Jiva Atman that fraction of Lord is under the shadow of Maya, who rules the whip through illusion and ignorance, and the sole doer is Shiva,

The five vital airs which makes it to feed the living entities on the planet in varying forms relates to five facet Shiva,

Kaal that Time and Maha-Kaal that time of dissolution both are just features of Shiva that meant for creation and creature on the subject of Life, and this is not the truth of life on the planet alone,
