This is Amavasya, for Pitar pujan and snan daan, Sri Amavasya at Sunrise known for Snan Daan

This Amavasya though shorter in span yet most effective being the appearance day of lord Saturn,

Presiding deity of the day is sri Pitar Dev but the truth of the day is ruled by Giant Planet Sun,

Sun-the cause of soul, Moon the cause of Manasa[mind] and both in same zodiac sign on the pitch of conjunction impart the day with special status to perform oblations to gratify the soul of ancestors and Purify self,

On mundane sphere, it is a low tide day but on the chart of mythology-it is a truth to recall self through adoration of varying chapters available with,
