The glory of Yagya is infinite in itself and holy Yagya always acts as a great giver. Many sages and munis have experienced this truth time and again. Even Kaal in his subtle form has glorified the truth of Yagya.
The story of Shilad Rishi is well known. He was blind, but his inner vision was excellent. He performed rigorous penance for years with the desire of having a great son. Indra appeared before him to grant him the fruits of his penance. Shilad pleaded for an immortal son who is not born of a woman. Indra instructed him to ask for such a boon from Lord Shiva. Only Shiva can grant such a boon. Shilad continued his penance until Shiva appeared before him. He granted him the boon of his wish and said to perform a holy Yagya which will make you achieve your wish.
Shilad started a holy Yagya with the truth of his subtle reality. By this yajna he got a unique child named Nandi, who attains the truth of the proximity of Lord Shiva. The chief servant and carrier,
The truth of the holy yajna is beyond words, it is the fire of yajna, with its subtle reality, in this holy fire devotees offer their subtle sacred eternal possessions to enchant themselves, so that they can achieve self-integration with the underlying source and reach ecstasy. The time and occasion support the truth of the yajna. The holy Saavan yajna is going on, which is being performed by the Gods for a mystical purpose on the planet.
