Jai Sri Ganesha,
Sri Shivratri today, on the eve of Sri Amavasya, is not just a day to recall the pastimes of Lord Shiva but to emphasize the truth of his inherent principles: Satyam, Shivam, and Sundaram.
- Satyam represents the truth of the self, the inherent cause of being. This self originates from the ultimate truth for a reason.
- Shivam represents welfare in both facets of reality: the eternal and the external endeavors that support the truthful journey.
- Sundaram most reflects the beauty of the self and the maintenance of its sanctity. This glorifies the self for the sole purpose of the spirit's amalgamation with pristine reality, much like rivers subtly manifest from and merge into the ocean.
