Sri Ganga dushera is celebrated to mark the appearance of Mother divine on the planet,
When 60000 sons of the then king of Ayodhya, Sagara reduced to ashes by the curse of sage Kapila, a way had to be found to redeem them from their sins,
Bringing the Celestial Ganga to the earth and making it flow on their ashes was the solution,
King Bhagirath, the descendant of Sagara achieved this task by pleasing Lord Shiva, thus she came to be known as Bhagirathi,
Shiva captured the celestial stream and release in define form for the welfare of Life and the planet, and bless the Ganga for a cause,
